Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a Midwife cost?
At Women’s Excellence, we offer a team approach to our patients. Our midwives work under direct supervision of a team of physicians to assist with clinical expertise when needed. By offering collaborative care, we bill your insurance once, meaning that you receive the added benefits of a midwife at no additional cost.
Do you do home births?
No, we do not currently offer home births. Our midwifery team manages labor and delivery in a hospital so that patients have immediate access to specialty care if needed. Our team of physicians and midwives manage all deliveries at Trinity Health Oakland Hospital.
Which hospital are you affiliated with for labor and delivery?
Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital in Rochester Hills, MI.
Are Midwifery care and Doula services the same?
A doula provides support for patients but does not deliver babies as they are not medically trained. A doula can help guide a mom through labor and delivery and provider her support. A Midwife is able to provide medical care for women and perform deliveries. Midwives are medically trained with a Bachelor’s degree and completion of specialty midwifery programs.
