This week’s pathology report is significant because of her symptoms and corresponding pathology. This patient had pain with intercourse, rectal pain, and urinary frequency. She also had a history of a large incision by an outside physician where bilateral large endometriomas were treated. We went to a robotic approach and did a significant resection. As you can see she had endometriosis in almost all of the surfaces of her pelvis including the rectum and both ureters, and she also had significant adhesions to the bowel. She will definitely experience improvement with this amount of disease resection and will be treated aggressively to get as close to a cure of her disease as possible. A massive amount of disease resected with robotic surgery.
