Endometriosis is a painful disease that affects 1 out of 10 women. Symptoms include painful periods, heavy bleeding, severe cramping, painful intercourse, lower back pain, infertility, and more. Women typically experience symptoms of endometriosis differently, which makes this disease complicated to diagnose. Awareness and expert care is crucial in treating symptoms effectively.
The show features special guest discussions with endometriosis advocate, Melissa Boudreau and Margaret Dimond, CEO of McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. Melissa shares her personal experience with endometriosis and the steps she has taken to help build awareness surrounding this disease. From a treatment standpoint, Dr. Zaidan and Margaret Dimond discuss the importance of excision of endometriosis and the investment of multiple robotic surgical systems from McLaren Oakland Hospital in treating women with pelvic pain and endometriosis.
